Where do I go for my DXA scan?
Lifford Health Centre

How much is my DXA scan?
It’s €85

How long will my DXA scan last?
Approximately half an hour

How much is a consultation with the doctor?
€50 for private Adult patients ,€40 for under 18s and free for medical card holders. If you have to see the doctor again within 7 days, it’s counted as a follow-up which is €25.

How much is a consultation with the nurse?
€30 for private patients and free for medical card holders

How much is a private script?
€15

Can I order a prescription over the phone?
No, we don’t take prescriptions over the phone. You can email it in to us at admin@liffordhealthcentre.com, drop it in to us yourself or you can ask your chemist to send it to us.

Can someone come in to pick up a cert for me?
You can get a friend or relative to pick up your work cert but a social welfare cert must be picked up by you.

If I call the office can I speak to a doctor?
We always try to accommodate patients but it may not be possible to speak to a doctor right away unless it is urgent. If you leave your name and number, your message will be passed on to the doctor.

Do you do house calls?
We do house calls for the elderly and the bed bound, but our doctors wouldn’t usually visit any other patient in their home unless it was an urgent case.

How long will it take before I get blood results?
Results usually come in after a few days but it may take longer during busy periods.
